ABOUT ME

For as long as I can remember, art has been my everything.

I'm Melissa — illustrator and character designer from Walnut Grove, California. Inspired by the artists and animators I grew up watching, I've spent nearly 25 years bringing characters and stories to life, from the first rough sketch to the finished piece, in pencil, ink, watercolor, and pixels.

Creativity runs in my family —

I learned everything from my super crafty mom! My favorite place to create is still next to her at the craft table.

These days I wear two hats: making art as Miss Melis Art, and serving as  Artist Alley Director for SacAnime, where I champion hundreds of fellow independent artists. My work has been commissioned by clients and celebrity guests alike

I love working at the events and being surrounded by people who love art as much as I do.
